THREE former Hunter Valley dancers will be beamed back into the region when they take centre stage for the Australian Ballet next month.

The dancers, including Robert Curran (principal artist), Olivia Bell (senior artist) and Matthew Donnelly (soloist) will perform in The Nutcracker at the Sydney Opera House on December 7.

Majestic Cinemas in Singleton will make history on this date when it hosts The Nutcracker live via satellite from the Opera House.

Curran grew up at Denman and attended the Tessa Maunder dance school with Bell (pictured) from Eleebana.

Donnelly, who attended the Marie Walton-Mahon Dance Academy, lived at Medowie.

Singleton is one of eight cinemas on the Australian Film Commission's Regional Digital Screen Network (RDSN).

The Nutcracker transmission on this network will be the first time a live performing arts event has been beamed out to regional venues across Australia.

In addition to the main performance, regional audiences will be treated to behind-the-scenes footage from the rehearsal and warm-up areas.

The Singleton event is free. Contact Majestic cinemas on (02) 6571 5252 for more details.
